Too much protein????

Is it ok to go over in certain categories ( protein in my case) if I am at or under my daily calorie goal?

  • Mfp sets protein ridiculously low. You'll continue to lose weight as long as there is a deficit.

This. I would shoot for at least double MFP recommendations.

I always go higher in protein and lower in carbs. I finally changed the percentages in the goal settings.

aim for .75 -1g per lean body mass. That's usually at least 100g protein for most people.

Go higher on protein, watch your other macros. MFP tried telling me to eat 300g of carbs and 80g of protein... even without a gluten intolerance that's too many carbs, where I eat more like 250g of protein :D

I concur with these guys!! Eat way more protein .. go over in fiber too .. try to keep the carbs lower.. but it's all okay. Going over is generally fine .. except in sugars and sodium .. and hopefully everything you do stays at the calorie deficit you're aiming for if you're working on losing weight :-)
