Maintaining & increased daily calories ...

Maybe a dumb question ... I reached my goal weight a few months ago and I have been maintaining it by staying at the 1200 calories/day allotted to me by MFP when I set my weight loss goal. However, I recently changed my ticker to reflect the maintainance status, and it upped my calories to 1700/day, an additional 500 calories/day. Why?

Because according to your data 1700 is what MFP has done the math to say you need. You must have had your loss set to 1 lb/week which works out to 500 calories a day.
  • ^^^ Yup.

You should probably not shock your system by going up to 1700 in one fell swoop
up it by 100 per week until you're there.

check your weight from time to time.
you may go up a little at first, if this continues the 1700 may not be right, but I bet anything you like 1200 is too little for maintaining
