I have to prepare a 5 minute speech pursading my audience (the class and teacher) to live healither by working out and eating healthier. any suggestions on what I should cover and how to debunk the "its too expensive to eat healthy", " I don't have time, money", ect?
What should I include in my speech and what would be a good attention grabber to begin with?

A way to grab a class at the beginning is to use pictures/images..e.g. before/during/after pics to get their attention. Use key statements, be concise, and have proof of what you are saying. For example, fruit and veg don't have to be expensive...most supermarkets have taken a pledge (in the UK) to offer fruit and veg at low / affordable prices. Turn the issue of time into fun with cooking, much cheaper and easier e.g cook in bulk, freeze/fridge for quick meals when you get in from work etc etc.
Hope this helps.

There is a picture I saw once... I`m guessing just google it.... Anyways, it shows you how much healthy food you can get for a certain amount of money and how much prepackaged and unhealthy food you can buy for the same amount of money..... It is wayyyy cheaper to eat healthier. So personally, I would make a little list and compare prices to debunk the `healthy food is more expensive` myth.0 -

This.
Plus add statistics that would most likely shock the audience. You could maybe do a scenario to catch their attentions and add humour to it.
Good luck!0 -
Tabata is a good attention grabber for the time excuse0

are we in the same clasS? LOL i have a persuasive speech due november 19th for my communications class for Northwestern State University. Boooooo I hate speeches lol. Good luck with yours! :drinker:
ETA: I realized I didnt contribute to the helpful advice bit lol sorry. But really maybe you could produce a little slide show showing the difference in your body after eating poorly over eating more healthily and show how it is more cost effective in the long run as far as your overall health and fitness goes0 -
You could take $40, go to the grocery store spend $20 on junk food, chips, frozen dinner, candy. And then spend $20 on healthy foods. You can then compare the receipts with nutritional values. Focus on things like Calories, Sodium, Protein, Vitamins and Minerals. Maybe talk about how when you have frozen dinners, the nutrients like vitamins and minerals are almost non existent because they've been cooked to death (for reference check out whfoods.com.)0

This.
I would write it in Red on the white board.
As for props,
I would make a picture of a McD's meal for 2, an Applebee's meal for 2 and a healthy home made meal for 2 and then on top write the $$ and on the bottom the amount of fat cals. 2 would work as well. Make sure these pictures are colorful.
If you want to do an absolute comparison, I would do one for Italian at Olive Garden. Red (sauce) and green (salad) foods really stand out. You can get bagged ceasar for 3$$ Pasta for $1, ragu for $2-3, meat varies, and make sure you throw in bread.
It's even better if you make the food and take the picture yourself. If you do this, make sure they can see seasoning on the buttered bread.0
