Secret eating - do I have a problem?

Just wanting some opinions on this!
I have this thing about chocolate. I feel like it's so naughty I shouldn't be eating it. So I usually buy it when I'm alone and stash it away to eat in secret. The thing is, I don't binge. Most of the time it takes me weeks or even months to delve into my stash! And when I do, I don't polish off the entire block or anything, I just eat enough to make me feel like I've satisfied my craving then I put it away again. When I'm in the shops I just feel like it's really exciting to buy chocolate, even though I hardly ever eat it...
I'm a healthy weight, I have a few vanity pounds I'd like to lose but that's it. I eat well apart from this chocolate thing. When I was growing up we were never allowed much chocolate and my mother would always ration it out so we could only eat little bits at a time...do you think that's why I have this shroud of secrecy surrounding my chocolate eating???

I wish that was my problem. I could polish off a block in one sitting.
On the weekend of my SO's 30th I decided I wasn't counting calories because there were all sorts of treats around and I wasn't going to miss out. He and I sat down and ate an entire block of chocolate in about 15 minutes. It was almost like a race.
I don't trust myself with it. Like I have said before "an open packet is an empty packet".0 -
That is most likely the reason why you're so secretive when it comes to eating chocolate. Your mother didn't allow you to have much of it as a child, so you feel the need to eat small amounts of it in secret.0

I suspect this is why you do your chocolate buying in secret, based on what you say. You're not over indulging. What are you hoping for from your responders? In my opinion, anything healthful goes as long as you record it and modify your calorie intake to meet your goals. Moderate amounts of chocolate is definitely healthful, especially dark chocolate.0 -
I don't think you have a problem! When no one is looking I sneak into the fridge and eat whipped cream with a spoon. lol But I'm not addicted!0

Lol @ the whipped cream!
what am i hoping for from my responders? I just wanted to know if I'm weird lol. I don't feel weird! It doesn't keep me up at night or anything but I was just looking at my stash and I thought to myself, "Um...is it odd that I do this?!" Good to know I'm not alone0 -
If you're normal weight and their isn't a major reason to avoid chocolate, enjoy it every now and then. Just don't sneak it. And if you're logging your food, log it and try and stay within your calorie range. I have diebetes and have to enjoy sugar free chocolate. But I make sure I stay within my calorie allotment. Like today my sister and I ate out for breakfast and lunch. For dinner I logged everything and I'll have to skip the chocolate to stay within my calorie count. I have about 65 more calories to go.0
