Hi, everyone, my name is Kimberlee, 49. I lost that wt. in 14 mos. time. 1 1/2 yrs. ago my doctor told me that I would die if I didn't lose wt. It took me a little while for that to really sink in, but then I got serious about losing that wt. and getting healthy. I really wasn't healthy at all and will never fully recover from the damage that I did to my body over all the many yrs. that I was "morbidly obese". In the period of 4 1/2 yrs. I've had a heart attack that required open heart surgery to bypass 5 totally clogged coronary arteries, Shoulder manipulation to unfreeze it, stomach/esophageal surgery, toe surgery, gall bladder surgery, bladder surgery, stomach/esophageal/intestinal surgery, carpal tunnel surgery, surgery to repair multiple hernias, and a skin graft to repair a bed sore that I got while in the hospital. I have diabetes, sleep apnea, neuropathy in both feet and legs, retinopathy in my right eye, and many other problems. Due to what I did to myself over the many yrs. I am now totally physically disabled and have to live with that forever. But one thing that I don't have to live with is being overweight. I have taken control of my life. I am the one that picks up the fork or spoon and puts the food in my mouth. This site has been really helpful in seeing what I eat and how many calories, etc. is in the food choices I make during the day. I know that each of us is facing our own struggles in this journey to a healthy lifestyle, but we are all trying to become healthy and in that we are all the same. I know that you can do this and I can help anyone that needs help on here. I log in everyday and have an open diary. Please feel free to add me for support and encouragement. Thank you for hanging in there and reading my story.

Wow, you certainly have had your share of challenges! And that's an understatement. I am sorry you've had to have so many surgeries. But you look fabulous today, so it's very encouraging to know this can be done. I assume that with your disabilities, exercise was also near impossible. That's actually how I landed here (just signed up and haven't introduced myself yet, as I write this), I googled something about losing weight without exercise, because I simply can't. I'm also disabled, but my disability came before my weight gain. Sixteen years of steroids added the weight, and the disability kept me from my prior weight loss method -- dieting WITH lots of exercise. I enjoyed it; it made me feel good. I loved to dance, too. All that is now out of the question, and it saddens me. Anyway, I didn't want to talk about myself, but respond to you, because I admire your courage and applaud your tenacity and success!
Very nice to make your acquaintance!0 -
Hi Kimberlee, I just started yesterday & I have 100lbs to lose so it's great to find someone who has lost a similar amount. I would definitely love to add you, I think you've done amazingly well to lose that 104lbs. It's really inspirational.0
