Colds & Volunteering

I volunteer twice weekly at a charity shop where I live, and I really enjoy it. The problem is I've had snifles for a few days now & woke up this morning with a full blown cold. I want to go in today, but obviously I don't want to make anyone else poorly & I can only breathe through my mouth (normally that wouldn't be an issue but I've had a few throat issues lately). What should I do?

I think I'd just take the day off and rest. It's better for them and better for you. You'll rest, get better quicker (I hope!) and be on your way back to volunteer :)

Can someone else fill in for you? If you can avoid showing up sick, that's the best thing to do. :flowerforyou:

I would say stay home and get better, you'll be more help to them in good health. Trust me I have been in that volunteering situation.

I'm all about generosity...except when it comes to sharing germs.

Stay home and take care of yourself so you don't miss even more time by delaying/prolonging your illness.

In our office we ask people not to come to work if they are poorly.....this past winter we only had one "outbreak" where 5-6 people got sick in a row, so I am a great believer in "stay at home with your germs" :-)

Hope you feel better soon :-)

Stay home. You'll just make old and poor people sick! Being a poor person who shops in opshops, last thing i want is to be sick and skint.

Thank you for your comments, and your various well wishes, I think I'm gonna go with the consensus and stay home today. :flowerforyou:
