Transition to maintenance

Thanks to MFP and my friends on here, I am almost at my goal. Now what??? This site is great and I hesitate to say anything bad about it, but there isn't much about info or support while transitioning to maintenance. I want to remain a daily user and keep my exercise regiment going. Looking for new friends who are switching to maintenance or have switched over. I'd like to see how its done and any advice is appreciated. :)

When I switched over to maintenance, I ate like 1800 cals the first week, then 1900, then 2000. I don't use the calorie setting they have here, and I don't log my exercise since I do the same thing each week. I gained 2 lbs in water weight immediately. Then I bounced around 125-127 weighing once a week, but more often closer to 127, so I'm dipping my calories back to 1800 to try to maybe lose another lb or two super super slowly. :) Because a lb really makes so much difference. XP I guess it's a vanity thing.

I am continuing my Eat To Live program but I still count calories. I am not quite as vigilant at logging them in but I have been at this for over a year now. I was told because I asked someone and they suggested I keep my calories at 1/2 pound loss per week. I know I go over so now I don't need to be concerned and cut back. If I go over, I just go back to normal and know I have the built in 1/2 pound loss per week.

If you are working on building muscle, although you look great and like you've beat that one, too, you might search the groups for your interests or make one yourself and see who you get.

Thank you for posting this! I am almost at maintenance, just a couple more pounds to go. I've been pondering what to do when I get there. I'm terrified of gaining weight back. My current thought is to add a 100 calories on to my current allotment and let that go for a couple of weeks and see what happens. If I continue to lose, I'll add 100 more, until I reach a pretty steady equillibrium.

    Thoughts?
