Carrot cake made with diet soda???

I heard that you can take cake mix and make it with diet soda and I have a box of betty crocker carrot cake and was wondering if anyone knew how i could make it with diet Dr Pepper it's all i have for soda and what steps would i take to make it with soda?

Honestly, I think that it is just the cake mix and the dt. pop. Let me know if it tastes good with dt. Dr. Pepper. It sounds pretty good.

I wasn't sure if you still add the eggs, oil and water or just mix the soda with the dry mix..... That's the part im confused about!

I have not tried that combo, but go for it! My favorite is using lemon box mix. I blend in 8oz of diet sprite and about 3 eggwhites. It makes the cake fluffier than just using the soda, and it doesn't add much to the calorie content. I bake as directed then keep it in the fridge. I add a dollop of cool whip and it's delish!

Some other combos are chocolate + diet cola and regular white mixed with diet orange.

*You don't have to add eggwhites, but the cake is really flat and it's more like bars. I like it better with eggwhites.

If you use the diet soda and a box of cake mix, then the nutrtional info is right on the box, I think it's called "Mix" (instead of "Prepared").

170 calories. 190 with cool whip, and 195 if you use a few egg whites. Definitely worth the calories

So i made that carrot cake mix with the diet dr pepper!!!! WOW!!! IT'S AMAZING.... you can't even tell i put diet dr pepper in it... My finace and kids didn't even know it wasn't made the normal way!!!!
