You know why most people don't set goals? They are afraid of FAILING. They don't want that REMINDER that they didn't accomplish what they set out to do. If they don't have that GUARANTEE they will succeed, they'd rather do nothing.
I can understand that feeling because that's how I use to feel too! I only wanted to do those things I KNEW I could succeed at and be the BEST at. It's that all-or-nothing mentality.
Then I realized that by constantly seeking out the safe zones I was making myself miserable. I realized I was DESIGNED to do GREAT things! By NOT setting BIG goals I would never see my true potential. I had an experience a year ago, November 2011, where I KNEW I was living beneath my potential and I knew it was time to step it up. That's why I decided to take charge of my life and do something about my weight and my life and I knew if I didn't set that goal I would never see what I was capable of.
Since then I have set a lot of big goals. Some I had reached, and others I have came up short on. But I don't see that as a failure! Just part of the experience, because I WILL keep on trying and moving forward. And honestly? Setting a goal and coming up short is better than doing nothing at all.
Trust me you guys, there's no joy in settling for less than you are capable of doing.
