I have seen posts on here about being in starvation mode. I am almost completely sure I am not starving myself seeing as I am not ever hungry. I eat when I'm hungry and I exercise but I cannot seem to lose the weight. Help?

Starvation mode isn't whether you are hungry or not. Your body requires you to take in 1200 calories a day just to function properly. If your net calories are less than that 1200 then you go into starvation mode and your metabolism changes to adjust to that number and you won't lose wt. Try increasing your calories if you are active and you may start losing. Feel free to add me for support and encouragement.0

Yep lots of people are starving themselves and don't feel hungry. Work out if you are eating enough so you can loose.0

Yes or even more than that. Work out your BMI and your TDEE and eat between them.0 -

People actually need more.. most need more than the bmr or metabolic rate... 1200 calories is the socially acceptable standard set by the NIH.
Op, you probably arent losing because you are not eating enough. Your body requires fuel to run.. if you dont feed it, it wont run. Set a small deficit since you have little to lose and eat 50% of you exercise calories. Also eat higher calorie foods such as nuts, avocado, eggs, cook in evoo, high calorie protein shakes or protein bars.0 -

You can use sites like fitness frog or fat2fitradio.com. Google bmr calculator0 -
I don't know if you are starving, but my cousin fasts on a regular basis and she said the feeling of hunger goes away after the first two days.0

Thanks everyone!! So basically what I am getting from all this is that I need to eat more. I feel like I'm stuffing myself when I consume so much food though. I will try eating a little more and see how that works out thanks again.0

Probably but we can look at it... how much are you eating now? Do you exercise? If so, do you eat back any of those calories?0 -
Few people on MFP really understand "starvation mode". Not everyone needs 1200 calories. Some need less, some need more. Eating when hungry doesn't work for everyone. Make sure you are eating enough to not feel tired, and you are getting enough fat and protein.0
