Lunges/Squats and the day AFTER

I worked out with an exercise physiologist yesterday and did some things I have not done in a long time, lunges and squats. I did 2 sets of 15 on each leg. afterwards my legs were shaky, but I kept on going with leg curls and I was fine with that machine. Today, I am not so much sore but unsteady when using my quads-ie going DOWN the steps. I almost fell taking my dogs out for their morning walk. I don't feel like I need an NSAID/anti-inflammatory b/c im not that sore, but I'm not sure what to do with this new feeling. I just finished my 40 minute workout, and was about to walk 2 miles. Is it wise to keep moving? Help! Thanks

Don't worry, tomorrow should suck more. ;-) I only say that as I'm on my day 2 post-workout pain. Just keep moving, keep your muscles warm and stretched. And love the fact that your muscles obviously got a workout. :-)0

I got this last weekend, did an evil Legs Bums and Tums class and was so stiff the next day. But like someone above said it always hurts more the second day after your workout lol.0

Yes, keeping the blood flowing will help with muscle recovery. Great workout!!0

I actually prefer to go for a run the day after working my legs. Best thing for DOMS IMO.0

this.
I was sore as hell yesterday from Mondays workout, so I went downstairs and did about 100 reps of hamstring curls, drug a sled, and did some stretching and foam rolling.0 -
I get exactly the same thing. I've just started New Rules of Lifting, so Monday did 2 sets of 15 squats with 50kg and Lunges with 30kg.
Yesterday I was sore, but did 30 min medium cardio to keep blood flow up.
Today I am SORE but will be off to Krav in an hour and a half.
Taking paracetamol and avoiding NSAIDs like ibuprofen as the reduced inflammatory response can restrict muscle growth, otherwise it's just carry on and press through it!0 -
The lunges felt great! The squats weren't really working. I didn't really feel the burn. So, per this instructor, I layed on the ground, put my feet on an elevated surface (about chair level) and lifted my butt. that REALLY burned....and I so feel that today. I'm totally new to this, and appreciate your input.0

Whenever I do a heavy leg day, I always finish with 10-20 minutes low intensity cardio. Active recovery is awesome in helping with DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).0
