Hi everyone!!
I have a question on behalf of my hubby who is also trying to lose weight.
He says that since we quit drinking diet coke and started drinking water, he feels very tired at work. He works all day at the computer. I know that stopping the caffeine will do this. But what advice can you all offer him? I didn't know what to answer him???

Maybe he could try hot tea at work? With just a little sugar. Would be something to trick himself out with. I've got the same problem with coffee.. I think it's my mind trying to make excuses.0

I quit drinking pop when I started MFP too. Pop is a big trigger food for me. I switched to Starbuck's Cool Lime Refresher packets. They have caffiene in them, but only 70 calories for a mixed liter. I have one everyday and it also gets a liter of water in me. Then I only have one more liter of straight H2O to go for the day! Less calories, caffiene fix, win-win!0

Drink something else with caffeine like iced tea or coffee.0

Unsweetened peppermint tea. It wakes me up. Also, may sound silly, but go get him some peppermint chapstick and some mints. Peppermint wakes you right up.0

I felt tired for awhile - maybe as much as 3 weeks(?) - but it will get better. I was a big time diet soda drinker, so I'm pretty sure I had a major caffiene addiction, and it was no fun at all quitting, but I feel so much better since I did.0

When I got off sodas the headaches are what killed me! I started drinking tea until my body got used to the lack of caffeine and then finally was able to go to water.
Now when I randomly drink caffeinated tea, it keeps me up half the night so I've had to switch to decaf.0 -
Whenever I've tried to go off of caffeine I felt the effects for 2-3 weeks. The headache lasted about a week, but the tiredness lasted longer. Some of the power drinks like 5 Hour Energy have caffeine but very few cals - may try some of those and wean off the caffeine rather than going cold turkey? It does get better!0
