Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can find local runs? I have stumbled upon a few 5ks but would like to find more. I have googled it and I got nothing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Local running store websites.
http://www.runningintheusa.com/ has some. It really depends on the area in which you live. Some places, like the Boston area, have a great site that has a comprehensive list of races. Coolrunning.com fits that description. Here, in Baltimore, we have no such resource. You just have to scrape and claw to find races.0 -
On Nike+ a lot of people map their runs and it will show distance, so you can look around your area and see where other people run, it's a good way to find routes that people have already mapped out.0

I usually use three search sites to find runs near me (or whatever location I want to run in):
http://www.active.com/running/
http://www.coolrunning.com/eventcal/search/
http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/racefinder/1,7151,s6-239-283-284-0-0-0-0-0,00.html
A comparable search on all three will show different results, so it's worth searching in a few places. Another thing you can do is look for races for LAST year. Depending on how far ahead you plan your races and training, many races are annual events and held on the same weekend or date. If you're looking to plan next october's races, they may not be posted yet but last October's results will give you a good idea of what's available in your area.
edited to clarify - I mean running races. If you're just talking routes, mapmyrun is a great place to look, as well as your local running club.0 -
Try active.com ....0

Local running shoe stores usually know the local races and even organize their own races and weekly group runs.0

Do you have any coming up? I've noticed that races tend to advertise at other races and you can ask other people about good ones!0
