magnesium deficiency

Ok, so I have read that you lose a lot of magnesium when you sweat and I've read about conditions that could be the cause of magnesium deficiency. So how do you replenish magnesium? In powder? With tablets? Energy drinks? Anyone?

magnesium caps are out there, but you can get all the magnesium you need from food! & its absorbed better that way.
its in grains & oats, breakfast cereal, and nuts. google it :)
  • I should not have much problem then because I eat a lot of those things.

I take a supplement because I'm not a huge fan of grains etc. I definitely notice when I haven't been taking it- anxious, tired, sugar cravings etc.

Do you take anything like Nexium or Prilosec for heartburn because those medications can also cause magnesium deficiency?

I take Phillips tablets to keep me regular & all those are is magnesium. I figured that out when I tried other things & was doubled over in pain. I finally read the label & thought... no wonder!

Whenever I get bad muscle cramps in my calves while I'm sleeping, I take 500mg of magnesium for a week or so and it usually improves things immediately.
