Tower Garden - My first year

Below is a video about Tim Blank, inventor/developer of the Tower Garden that I purchased and used for the first time this summer. It uses an aeroponic system (similar to hydroponics) to grow fruits and vegetables on your back deck or patio. No soil therefore no weeds and fewer bugs because the plants are 2’ above ground. It waters itself through a timer/pump system, you just need to maintain the water level and nutrients. Because of the recycled water it only uses 10% of the water of a regular soil garden and also 10% of the footprint because it is vertical.

This year I kept it pretty simple and grew 4 different leaf lettuces, kale, basil, beans, 4 different types of peppers, cilantro, and 2 types of tomatoes. It was great to be able to walk out on my patio and pick what we are having for a salad or stir-fry. There is nothing better than knowing it is 100% organic and picked at its peak nutritional value.

Please watch and tell me what you think? I can email you a few pictures of mine in action if you are interested in seeing them.

Forgot to mention that some folks this time of year buy grow lights and bring them inside to have F & V all year round!
