is it a magic trick?

I just took my weight for the first week with MFP and i have lost 2 pounds; exactly what i was supposed to do
However, I'm not very happy with it because i know i cheated a lot; I can't avoid feeling like i Could have done better

What bring my to my question: any magic trick to stop getting hungry for junk food?

No magic tricks, only diversions :P Also you learn more self-control the longer you stick with it.
  • Theres no tricks...picking healthier foods that are less calorie dense (ie you get bigger portions with less calories) is always a good idea! But if you are having trouble with feeling hungry or craving sweet things i can suggest a few things

Eat things high in fibre and protein - they will make you feel full for longer
Drink heaps of water - it makes you feel full as well as helping your body to run more efficiently
Use smaller plates and bowls - when you use larger plates you want to fill the plate so you consume more. a lot of our appetite is visual
Eat about 2/3 of your meal then stand up, walk around a bit, grab a drink of water - usually you are actually already full but by sitting you think you are still hungry - it also takes ur stomach about 10mins to realise its full
Drink a cup of coffee - only black coffee though as milk or similar things add calories
Drinking green tea - helps with sugar cravings plus it gives you heapz of antioxidants and helps increase your metabolism
Chew sugar free gum - this can help with sweetness cravings - just dont have too many or they can hurt your stomach
Try having a light broth or soup before dinner - helps you to feel full
There are sugar free and fat free lollies you can get - again, just make sure not to have too many and always check the label to mack sure they are sugar free and fat free
Protein shakes can be really delicious and taste just like chcocolate but dont give you all the fat and sugar that chocolate does
Things like tofu and bean curds can make you feel full for a long time and are low in calories, carbs and contain good fats
Plan your meals for the day in advance so you dont get any hidden calorie suprises - it also helps you to stay on track and look forward to your next meal
    Most importantly:
Dont be too hard on yourself - we're all allowed to treat ourselves every once in a while...just not too often

ummmm thats all i can think of right now...hope that helped!

I'm guessing that you set your weight loss goal at 2 lbs per week. So if you "cheat" or go over your cals a little you shouldn't lose weight, right? Wrong! You just might not lose the full 2 lbs per week every week. Unless you are going way over every day, you are still eating at a deficit and will still lose weight. Don't beat yourself up because that won't help you at all. Make this a life style change that you can live with so that you can have better success. You can do it! :D

Find something that really motivates you to lose the weight and thing about that each time you reach for the junk food. Also when you get hungry outside of mealtimes try drinking a big glass of water and waiting 20 mins. If you are still hungry then eat a snack but you will find that mostly you were just thirsty and didn't realise it.

Still 2 lb in a week is great and you should be flipping proud of yourself. This is a change for life so don't remove all the foods you like or you are doomed to fail. Hang in there you have gotten off to a great start.

No magic tricks but the less junk food and sweet stuff you eat the less you crave it. Initially the cravings are tough but your body adapts to you healthier eating and eventually you will find you crave the bad stuff far less if at all.

If you get hungry throughout the day you might try eating more, smaller meals.....Breakfast,snack,lunch,snack, dinner, snack.

PS. the first week you'll probably lose a lot of water weight. Enjoy the 2 lbs. loss but don't expect it every week.
