Marinades and counting calories

If I marinade food, how many calories should I actually be counting? example I like to marinade chicken in beer. I know there is 100 plus calories in the beer. I also know that I discard almost the whole bottle when I put the chicken on the grill after it marinades for several hours. Do I count one fourth? one eighth? anything?
Thanks

How about measuring the amount that you discard, and subtracting that from the amount you log? You could always overestimate the amount you you actually use, if you're worried about it.

I just do a rough estimate of a tablespoon of whatever the marinade is and call it a day.

Do you really need to? I'm not super finicky about those things so I don't count olive oil, marinades, ketchup, etc...unless it's really high...i mean these are little things and unless you are using a ton of these little things every day, not counting won't hurt. I think it if you log every little calorie, it gets boring and you'll want to stop. which is why i don't get people that log vitamins...ha

You burn calories as you digest, its not much, but based on what meat/food you eat it may counter balance.

I use this logic when it comes to sauces, as long as i am not drinking a gallon of bbq sauce with my chicken, i think of it as being burned by my digestive calories so i can keep all my calories that matter muahahaha,

Kinda agree with this, I don't log these little things either usually apart from sauces as I was shocked how many calories are in things like ketchup. There was a dieting show on the telly (secret eaters) and one lady was having an extra 200 calories with her meal in sauces.

I don't log things sometimes if they are basically no calories, like mustard. But I would definitely log olive oil, it's like 120 calories a tablespoon! haha
