Late Night Snack Attacks!

Hi everyone! Was hoping to see if anyone had any suggestions/tips on how to curb late night snack attacks, as I call them. I am great about exercising and eat pretty well during the day, but then at night, I get the urge to snack. I don't eat anything super unhealthy, just too much food and am going over my calories for the day. I feel bad because I work so hard during the day and then seem to set myself back at night.
Please help! Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with eating late if you have enough calories.
One, how many calories are you eating? Two, do you eat back your exercise calories (at least 50% of them)? Three, what is your per week weight loss goal (if it's more than 1 lb per week, its too aggressive for you)? And can you open your diary. If you tend to eat protein/high fat items throughout the day, you will be less hungry at night. But eating at night will not effect your weight loss.0 -
My point was that eating at night WILL affect my weight loss if it makes me go over my calories, which is what I was saying happened. Jeez! I have been eating a lot of protein during the day, I think I need to drink a lot more water. I don't get nearly enough water every day. And no, I'm not trying to lose more than 1 lb per week. And I do eat back my exercise calories.0

Calm down, we are just trying to help. Open your diary, we can look and make recommendations on how to improve.0 -

One suggestion would be to eat fewer calories during the day so that you have a larger calorie bank at night, at which point you can eat without going over. Works very well for some people but of course not everyone.0 -
Late night snacking has a habit of coming from lack of day eating. Either that or boredom. Is there any way you can try to get in the habit of going to bed earlier? If you sleep at night you can't snack.
Maybe a bigger breakfast or lunch would help. I eat a good 400-500 calories for breakfast so as the day progresses my appetite shrinks.0 -
Drinking more fluids can help... whether it's water or iced tea0

I am a huge snacker. Just create a program that works for you. If you enjoy snacking in the evening. That maybe eat a smaller breakfast and or lunch or a smaller dinner(whatever is best for you!) and that way you can allow yourself to snack in the evening without going over.
I snack every single night. I'm a muncher lol0
