Resistance to Determination.....

I did not start this journey on a high note weighing in at my highest (242 pounds). My doctor hounded me for years to loose weight (not that I did not want to...but kept eating anyway). Then one visit my doctor asked me if I would be happy if I got to a point where I would need to be taken care of because of bad health due to obesity. Of course I said no, but he said that is the road you are on if you dont make some diet changes....FAST. That hit home along with my Bestie willing to take this weight battle journey with me. I am so happy to say I am finally taking control over my life. I have lost 48 pounds so far and I can feel the difference.....I feel sexy again. I am also pleased to say some of my anxieties are deminishing. I have a long road ahead of me but have faith I will reach my goal of 125 pounds in 2013. I would love to hear some of you stories.

This is a great story. I think this is important for a lot of people to read who are in this situation. My highest was 180lbs. I never looked in the mirror and thought I was obese, but I randomly decided to calculate my BMI one day. When the little arrow hovered over the obese range, I sat at my computer and cried. That was my turning point. I never thought I would be obese....but I also never thought I would be where I am now (around 141lbs). I always figured I was just one of those people who would be UNpleasanty plump forever. Sometimes it only takes one moment to change your whole outlook. Luckily, for people like us, we reached that moment and are making changes.

Congrats on your weight loss. You should be so proud! Keep it up!!
