I need to STOP emotional eating! Tips?

Simple answer.... make better choices.
No it does not. Obviously, you believe in excuses. The fact is, the better choice is there. The OP need to make it.

I agree with most posts. It's o.k to have a cheat day or two. Just make sure you have more healthy foods around as opposed to the junk foods. Being able to have certain foods that you like will allow you to stay on track with your weight and lifestyle goals.0

Visualization can be an awesome tool as you describe it to be sure. But I'll say it again without dealing with the emotions of WHY you have gained the weight it will likely come back. This is no excuse either. In fact, it takes a lot of courage to face those emotions and to find effective ways to deal with them.
In fact, our ways of thinking may be similar. Your first point... realize. You have to realize what is going on. The simple answer is I want to eat those Cheetos. Then visualize a different choice, choose to take that action instead and act on it leading to "success". But that desire to eat those Cheetos, or whatever, is often primal and strong. The key is to "realize" what is really going on. Which for most people would involve getting in touch with the "feeling" of wanting to use food to make ourselves feel better. But to say to yourself only "I must not make this bad choice" only does not deal with the core problem. You gotta face the demons to overcome them.0 -
I'm sorry to hear that you have tough time right now. When I feel this way, and catch myself before I stuff my face, I try to make a conscience effort to pin point what is triggering my need to fill that "hole." Then I either will sit down and write about it (to myself) or do some kind of artwork that releases the tention. I'm not sure if this will be helpful or not, but I hope so. Also just talking about it, putting it out there is always VERY helpful to me. Sometimes we just need to let it out, so it doesn't hurt us from within. Take care lady, and I hope things start looking up for you!

I surround myself with "low" calories junkie snack food like goldfish, popcorn, the snack size bags 50c each with spicy peanust, and either eat them straight or mix them with Cheerios. For sweets, I eat apple sauce warmed in the microwave and add cinnamon. I also drink tea and add a little bot of honey.
Try to get your mind engaged with something else, surf the web and read about hollywood gossip, anything to get involved.0
