Anyone Else Battling Pilonidal Cysts?

I never had an issue with these cysts until last October when I got pregnant, and now I keep getting these cysts on my lower back, buttocks and thighs. They are very painful & I have had them lanced numerous times only to have them reappear a few weeks later. I am told that my excess weight can be a contributing factor and I was wondering if anyone else is battling the same issue & what your suggestions are for keeping them away... I have tried hot compresses, lancing, ointments, you name it, but I keep falling victim to these buggers and the doctor's bills are adding up.... help!

I dont know if that is the same as hidradenitis (abcesses under arms, on groin etc) but you could try a product called tend skin which my beautician recommended as it helps prevent ingrown hairs etc...seems to work and have not had any major flare ups....until I forget to use it...then I have to kick myself!!0

I had one on my tailbone as a teenager, and I was never more thankful that my mom is an RN.0

I had one that I had to have removed a number of years ago after lancing didnt work. It was right at my tailbone. Once it was removed it has not come back0

Oh my goodness! I had one of those a few years ago. I remember the pain was so bad that I almost fainted in the pharmacy waiting for my Lortab.0

Yes, they are VERY painful, I started getting them while I was pregnant, and was suffering after my c-section trying to recover from surgery while having the cyst... yuckDid they say what caused yours?

I have gone to get this one on my tailbone lanced over 7 times, but it keeps coming back. I am so sick of lancing as every time I go I cry and scream, the local anesthesia has little to no effect for me, and the doctor bills just keep adding up.0 -
I drained one for my brother once, he had no insurance, his pregnant wife was dry heaving from the smell.0
