I recommend you go back to your doctor because, psychologically, I don't think you have fully recovered from your disorder.

Agreed. While the advice re upping calories is good, you do not appear to have recovered from your ED.

Cut it down to 400 calories a day. Eat Ice chips, air and Benefiber. Then run 7 miles a day for 10 days a week!
    That's how to do it!

Obviously the OP has some mental issues still happening around food. My advice is to stop feeding into the whole thing. Making fun of her isn't productive and she isn't about to change because of our advice.

    OP, please seek medical advice.

I really hope you are not serious. If you are, this is one of the most irresponsible pieces of advice I have seen on here.

Agreed. There is sarcasm, and then there is giving dangerous advice to a potentially sick person. How about learning the difference, so you don't go inspiring people to hurt themselves while you get your giggle on?

Go get help - start with your doctor if you don't know where else to go ....

Totally agree she needs to get medical help. Will do no good to starve themselves and that is what she is doing. Will be praying for her and her situation!!!

Hi Squeekycat! I sure wish people on here would be a little less blunt with their advice. A person who is a closet Twinky eater is in pain, and you are in pain but with an opposite problem. I really feel for you and your situation. You know you eat too little so we don't need to revisit that. I wish I had something fancy to tell you but I don't. All I can say is that I hope from the bottom of my heart that you get a counselor or someone you can really open up to about emotional issues. That will unlock the key to why you just can't (or don't want to) eat more from fear of, whatever. Take a step back, regroup. I believe people can change, even what has been burned into their brains for years. You must do this for yourself before you continue to count calories. So don't worry about those last 5 lbs....please consider working on you, a mentally and emotionally stronger you. You can do it. If you are strong enough to eat as rigid as you do you have a toughness inside you already! Some people wish they had that naturally. I bet you have artistic talent too...don't you? See, I know you already. Write me anytime for a HUG! Best of luck, Rita in VA.

Please go see a doctor and/or a nutritionist. I think almost everyone on MFP tries to be helpful, but we are not experts, and I think you need to seek expert advice in this case. If you have a doctor's referral, visits to a nutritionist are often covered by health insurance. Good luck, sweetie.

I know it's probably really hard for you to even think about eating more, but you really need to. And I know it's scary, and you don't want to bloat, but I promise you, it's going to be fine. Maybe jumping right to 1200 calories will be too much, but you should try to increase your cals slowly to eventually get to that point, and actually even more.

I definitely think talking to a professional will help you. If you don't know where to start, your doctor is always a good place to look for resources. And if you need any support i'm always here for moral support, don't hesitate to drop me a message. :)

Also, anyone who jokes around about eating disorders is a *kitten*. Would you do the same with depression, or schizophrenia? They are legitimate psychological disorders and people need to understand that.

The only problem is that I'm not hungry. I almost have to force myself to eat what I do.

And honestly, the thought of eating more scares me. I'm worried that I'll go back to what I used to weigh or that my stomach with bloat/puff out :(
I don't know what to do...

I think you shouldn't worry about the tummy getting bloated and puffy. Just remember that after you have eaten, the food IS physically in your tummy after all! It will pass after it's all digested so try not to obsess about it too much. I notice my tummy looks the best in the morning so I don't pay attention to it's shape throughout the rest of the day.

Or what if you ate 5-6 smaller meals instead so you feel less bloated after each meal?

I hope you can find a healthy balance in your diet. Carbs are not your enemy as long is it is not from processed junk food, but you don't have to cut that out entirely either. Like what the others have said, I believe you will benefit more from professional help.

Don't give advice like this. This is dangerous. That is not healty. No way to lose weight without doing damage to your body.

Eat to lose. That is the rule. Nothing less than 1200. Add exercise. I raised my calories from 1220 to 1460 and lost the last 5 plus 3. I have started to add additional calories to keep from losing more.

    Don't starve yourself.

You need to see a Dr. You have a serious issue that will lead to life long medical issues.

I agree with some of the others, you need to see your doctor and come up with a plan. Maybe you can be referred to a dietitian. You need help getting over your previous issues, and making the right food choices for you. Please listen to the people here, we only want to help. You do need to keep your calories at 1200 or above. I wish you the best!

Your diary shows you undereating every single day. It's right there in front of your face. Piss-poor habits like that lead to piss-poor performance and results.

If you are undereating, fear eating, etc then I'm sorry to say, but you have not recovered from your eating disorder. As everyone else said, increase your calories, your body will get used to it. Try not to overthink it, eating more will benefit you in the long term both health-wise and in regards weight loss too. Remember food is fuel, you NEED it. Stop weighing yourself as well, the scale is misleading. Most importantly, get professional help. Good luck with recovery! I'm currently on the process of recovery, it's very rewarding in the end. Don't give up!

You are still suffering from anorexia. I hope you are seeing a specialist or that you will. I think you need inpatient treatment.

When I was in inpatient treatment (some 17 years ago) I think they started me at 1,000 then upped my calories slowly... like 200 per week. If you will not get professional help, at least try upping by 200 for the rest of the week. You will see that you will not bloat up or gain or look any different, and then you can up it by 200 again and try to get up to something sustainable and healthy. I hope you make it.

    Again, please get help.

Thank you <3 This is the advice that I was looking for.

All my experiences with inpatienting and even supervised outpatienting was horrible and restrictive and made me feel worthless/like I had no life. I'll work really hard to try and follow what you've said.

    I don't want to relapse again :(
