Anyone else have menstrual cramps that are pretty much crippling (WITH pain meds)? What do you do about it, what helps???

HEATING PADS!!! This and I started taking camu-camu and royal macca. Get them at a vitamin health store if interested. These two helped TONS. The heating pads helped when the cramps came but the other two supplements made it so I very rarely get them anymore...good luck!!!

I may try the camu camu and royal macca :) I know right now I'm on the pill and it shortens my period to 3 days instead of 5 (used to be I'd be in bed for 7 days - one before and after and then the entire period because I simply could NOT move). Now it's usually 1 to 2 days of it hurts to even think about moving....doesn't quite cut it when you work full time.

27 - when I was in high school, I would spend 7 days on average in bed...the worst times were up to 2 weeks

Exercise is the best thing you can do. If you don't move it will get worse and worse.

That's the thing...I have been doing the gym thing for 8 weeks now (this is my second period since starting), last month, I went to the gym on my bad day, and paid for it by ending up curled up in a ball on my couch for 3 hours...kinda makes me scared to work out when I'm having the cramps...

Personally I hardly have any cramps... You can use birth control. Or get a hot water bottle to lay on your stomach. Or even exercise, people say it helps.

I had bad cramps. They didn't even compare with labor pains. When I was younger, I would lay in the tub and position the shower head so that the hot water was massaging my stomach. Now, I have a Mirena (IUD). It stopped my periods. GYN inserts once every five years. It was my only option to try to control my periods which had gotten to be 10 days long and sometimes 2x a month. I have reactions to anything with estrogen ( the pill shut down my liver, and dropped my potassium level). It's been almost 10 years now and i'm loving it!!!

Agreed. It's hard to do, but it helps so much. I have a lot of pain now, I didn't when I was younger. I'd love to get it ripped out, but not yet.

mine suck complete *kitten* and I hit the gym everyday for like 2 hours when I'm on it. That helps because I'm real hungry on it also......
