Hello everyone,

I joined this site a couple of months ago and use it primarily to track my daily caloric intake. I joined the site to further my weight loss goal and so far find it a terric tool for that purpose. I can to join this site on the recommendation of my doctors and wife. Back in July of this year I got a sever case of pneumonia and ended up in the hospital for 5 weeks. I ended up on a breathing machine for nine days or so while they removed 70 lbs of fluid from my lungs. When came to I had severe atrophy in my legs and could not walk. This was compounded by the fact that when I went into the hospital initially I weghed 562.5 lbs. Even though I was "down" to 492 lbs. I was still too heavy for my now weakned legs to support so I spent the next few weeks in physical therapy where by I worked on getting stronger and with a nutritionist to correct my poor eating habits. She goals for me caloric wise of 2570 calories per day and a goal weight of 230 lbs. Luckily my insurance agreed to continue to pay for me to have her services even after I got out of the hospital. I am now on day 5 without my walker, after having to use it everyday since I first stood up for the first time after I came to all the time to ever increasingly less and less since August. My goal are now to continue to strenthen and to lose weight. This tool has been a great resource for me since it makes me really think hard about what I eat and how much.
