Perfume at the gym.....

Ladies (or even men) please don't take this the wrong way, as I understand that you may be coming to the gym from work and want to smell great during your day.

Please refrain from loading yourself up with perfume (or axe) before coming to the gym. There is a difference between gently wore down fragrance you sprayed on in the early morning, and come to the gym in the evening.....and when you spray it on your way out the door or in your car, right before coming to the gym.

I would prefer the smell of your stanky sweat (its the gym.....its not supposed to smell like a fresh summer day), than ralph lauren making it really really hard to breathe.

If you have horrible B.O.....well thats another story, but if its that bad....I don't think perfume masks it, it just adds to it.

So I hope no one is offended.....

Agreed! The only requirement is to NOT STINK, you don't have to smell good.

+1 no perfume please. Or cologne.

Also please refrain from using these at the pool, I'm not sure how chlorine interacts with fragrance, but net effect = I want to punch people, because something core, inside me, has been attacked by the vileness of that stench.

You mean that this bottle of axe and getting pumped at the same time won't attract the ladies? :(

agreed, i hate it when people spray deoderant/perfume in public (shops, classrooms, pubs etc.) no-one wants to be able to taste your perfume. i'd rather smell sweat in the gym than feel like i'm chewing chanel no 5 lol

I work in a scent free environment and find perfume and the smell of cigarette smoke really offending at the gym and in an elevator especially when the door opens and no one is on it.

I love perfume and wear it at home and on the weekends but I try to go easy thinking of those around me.

These days perfume/cologne isn't really acceptable anywhere except when you go out or in the privacy of your own home. Even corporate America frowns on wearing it when working. It would just seem out of place in the gym. JMHO

Its the "silver sneakers" crew you need to watch out for in regards to the perfume/cologne. I got behind this other older guy enroute to the gym entrance and I probably blacked out a couple times on the way due to the heavy trail of fumes coming from his old spice.

agreed. I'm on the treadmill breathing hard. And you're suffocating me with your cologne bath. I've never really had allergic reactions to anything but I swear certain smells make me feel like my throat is closing.
