It's all about Consistency - tips?!

Hi Everyone!! I have lost weight before, and then gained it back. Therefore, I know that for me it is all about consistency. If I am consistent with working out 4-5 days a week and eating 1200 calories then I WILL lose weight. However lately, I can only stick to that regimen for about 4 days before I sneak in a donut after work or have 2 breakfasts and overload on carbs.
What tricks do you guys use to stay consistent with your healthy lifestyle? What are your go-to's for days when you just aren't motivated to stay on track to the ultimate goal of being fit and happy?

You might try recording your eats BEFORE you eat them. Go ahead, put that donut in your food diary and see the awful results for the day. Or, see that it uses up so many calories that you won't have enough for a good dinner. Then think about having to go to bed hungry. You can do this. The good feelings you will get from NOT eating that donut should help you.
Another trick I've used is to promise myself the treat, (donut or whatever) but ONLY if I drink a large glass of water first, then wait 15 minutes. Usually, after the 15 minutes the desire for the treat has disappeared.0 -
These are some great tips! I should try them myself and see if they work with me.0

I hear you! I'm thinking that if you deprive yourself from certain foods, you'll eat them in excess later and then feel bad. What I decided to do lately is to journal my thoughts and feelings before I eat something that I know is not good for me. Typically, I eat because I'm anxious, but I don't realize it. Maybe, before you take that donut or something else, you can force yourself to wait for about 10 minutes, leave the kitchen, go outside or in another room, and write down what's going on with you. Also, if you take one day a week to eat whatever you want without feeling like you failed, it will benefit you in the long run.0

I pretty much deal with my calorie budget meal by meal. If there is something I'm dying to eat, I plan it into the next meal.
One morning I was baking and had 3 cookies for my 11sies meal. Was that a mistake! I was starving by my 2:00-ish meal.
Live and learn.
About once a week, I end up over calorie budget by the end of the day, but I'm really pleased with that. I used to abandon every weight loss attempt by about 2 PM every day.0 -
These are all great tips! Thank you guys0
