Sick food

Woke up this morning feeling sick to my stomach and terribly hungry...

The problem is I am craving my go-to "sick foods" of chicken strips and mac&cheese. That's what I always eat when I don't feel good and it makes me feel better. Trying to resist this temptataion (especially since I will not be going to the gym today), but it's hard!

Any healthy sick food suggestions? Or do I just give in and feed the sickness?

NO! Don't give in. Make yourself a homemade chicken soup instead.. just some broth, a chicken breast or thigh, some shopped carrots and celery! So easy, low calorie and low in fat. Plus has plenty of protein to help you get feeling better quick. When I'm sick and too exhausted to cook, I get the pre-made organic soup at Safeway (some states it's Von's), it's only about 80 calories a serving and tastes good.

I've also heard dairy is not a good idea when you're sick, and mac & cheese is half dairy with all the butter, cheese and milk.

Even a slice of toast with peanut butter would be better than chicken strips. Stick to simple, non-processed or minimally processed foods, and avoid anything breaded or fried.

You seriously feel sick to your stomach and want chicken strips with mac and cheese? When my stomach is upset I usually want nothing, maybe some ginger ale or a cracker.
