Sedentary vs Light Active

Hi there.
I am sure this has been discussed - but.......
I work a desk job for 40 hours a week, but the rest of the time I'm on the go a lot.
I work out a lot - about an hour most days.

I'm 195 lbs and 44 and have set a goal of 1.5lb loss/week.

When I set to sedentary, it gives me 1200 calories.
When I set to light, it gives me 1340 calories.

1200 seems hard to make, but it does make me exercise harder/longer to make up any calories I go over for the day.
I wear a HRM when I workout. I think I'm going to try the 1340 for the next week or so.

I've been at MFP for 2 weeks and seeing some success.
I also do WW, but switched from counting points to calories 2 weeks ago.

Thanks.

There are other ways to do it besides those modifiers! You sound a bit like me in that I like to eat. I don't eat back exercise calories because I already have them accounted for in my daily caloric level. You sound very active and should be able to eat a nice amount on days you work out PLUS on days you don't. Poke around this forum and you will learn more about BMR/TDEE. You may find eating between the two a very enjoyable way to lose weight.

You can also message me and I'll point you in the right direction.

You could also set your account to 1 lb and sedentary.. so you ensure good nutrition even on those days you burn more calories due to activity.... just make sure you eat about 1 g of protein per lb of lbm.. its about .7-.8 g per lb of weight.

I think that having a desk job makes you sedentary. Pick sedentary then eat your exercise calories.
