I often go over in fibre and protein, that's alright, right?

Just wondering :) Thanks!

    Yay! Thank you! :D
  • Thanks, I tend to do the same and was wondering the same, also.
  • I do and have lost 20kg. Best way to lose the weight for me is high fibre, high protein, lots of veges.

my deitation tells me that is fine but to try to keep the protein no higher than 30gm at one setting because more than that can be hard on our livers to break down the protein

    30g in one sitting?

I haven't seen a lot to support that, but if its working for you.
Just my protein shake is about 45g of protein.

Depends if you have changed your macros yourself or if you're just going by the ones that MFP has set you, as I have changed all my macros according to what I have researched and what my trainer has told me so it matches my fitness goals! The MFP macro daily goal was significantly too low (I think it used to be about 45g or something along those lines) but my trainer as informed me that I need 13+grams of protein at each meal and to eat between 80-100grams of protein daily (so you can see how low MFP set it!). Because my protein macro went up, my carbohydrate and fats came down.

Protein is great as it keeps you feeling fuller for longer and supports your lean muscle mass, I lost lots of weight to begin with but some of that was muscle :( which is definitely not what you want to do, so make sure you're eating enough food in general, eating enough protein and doing some strength training too!

Ask her where she gets this from as it is not correct.

Everything that everyone has said, yes. I'm diabetic so I also aim to keep my protein well above what MFP recommends and my carbohydrates well below (especially simple carbs and sugars). I don't take things like protein bars, shakes or powders - again with diabetes you need to be careful about that - but just making sure I eat eggs, nuts, fish, meat, dairy etc. If you're blowing over the MFP target for protein but still keeping your cals udner then keep it up, you're doing fine.

Take it this way, The levels of fat and carbs are restrictions, but fiber and protein are recommended amounts per day

I wouldn't aim to go over 25g of fibre tho. 17g - 25g is good. There's a few articles on the web about having excessive amounts of fibre.
  • It's perfectly fine. And if you are using what MFP gives, their setting for these are usually too low anyways

Those are probably the two things you WANT to go over on :)
