so, do I get to count extra calories on my workout???

I really don't know if I should laugh or be really really pissed. I went out for my run (C25K week 4, day 3), and was bit by two little dogs. That pisses me off, because their owner was taking them across the street w/out a leash... so this whole mess could have been avoided.

So, why should I laugh? Because one of the little *kitten* really had a hold of my pant leg. If I was wearing one of my older workout bottoms, they would have pulled right down to my knees! LOL! I am upset that my pants now have a hole in them. Hoping the owners will replace them.

I'm completely thankful that I was wearing my gloves, because the other dog got a hold of my finger... but got just the glove.

So, my question is... do I get to count extra calories on my workout for having my heart rate jump through the roof?!?!?

I'd probably have burned some extra calories beating the crap out of the owner. Running is always an adventure! I was out in the country one day running with my earbuds in when I felt something touch the back of my leg. Looked down into the face of the biggest German Shepherd I've ever seen. He was very friendly and just wanted to run with me but my heart was sure pounding.

Oh wow! I think my heart would have skipped a beat! How lucky you were that the German Shepherd was friendly!

wow . hope you dont encounter those dogs again, they sound like real a*holes! what did the owner do? i generally hate little dogs because they IME are so much meaner than bigger dogs. the only mean big dog i've ever met was a german shepherd and he was only mean because i used to hit him in the face with a pillow constantly. and by mean, one day he raised up a paw and pretty much pimped slapped me

i know some runners go with homemade face spray to use against mean dogs.

in general nice dogs are hilarious when you run because if they are offleash they seem to be like "oh look. we're running now!" and will start to follow

That HAS to be worth an extra couple hundred calories AT LEAST

Glad it didn't turn out any worse than it did!

I'm thinking a stiff drink is in order. Unfortunately I don't have the right stuff at my house, so I might just have to settle for a glass of wine. LOL.

The owner that was walking them across the street tried to get one of the dogs off of me, and yelled for his partner to help get the other one off of me too. Oh Geeze. I'm so thankful I wasn't wearing my larger pants.. they would have been 'round my knees for sure... and I'm sure that is not what either of those to men wanted to see. ROTFLMAO!

I'll be filing an official complaint form with the management office. I'll be requesting $40 to cover the pants, and maybe a stiff drink too!

I'm assuming you mean filing a complaint with the management office of your apartment complex? Honestly, if you're that mad about it, I'd file a report with the police. If the owners were total Aholes about it, that's what I'd do. By law once a dog has bitten a person and it is filed with the police, the owners have to go to their vet, get proof that the dogs are current on their rabies vaccines, and if they're not the dogs have to be quarantines for 10 days. It's a total pain in the *kitten* for the owners, but it might make you feel better. I know all this because I'm a vet tech. I've seen lots of owners come in to try to get their dog's rabies shot and get the doctors to back date it so they don't have to quarantine their dogs.

I live in a manufactured home park, so similar rules to an apartment complex. Since neither dog broke the skin, I'm not contacting the police yet... but, yes, if I don't at least get a sincere apology, then I'll decide what to do then. This evening I'm going to write down everything that happened, so that I can at least have a copy of it if I need it later.

I'm not as concerned about me, but I am very concerned about the children I know ride their bikes through that area.
