p90x or insanity?

I had great results using P90X (and I started it after 30DS). I also have the Insanity DVDs but I don't like the impact of that type of training so frequently. I do think Insanity cardio is very good - just not for 6 days/week.
I would suggest starting P90X. If at any point you feel the Plyo or Kenpo workouts are not getting your heart rate up enough, sub in an Insanity workout.
I agree with this and can say that a mix of the 2 is what has worked for me and kept me from getting bored. I found P90X great for the weights session, ab ripper and Yoga and the insanity great for "kick it up a notch" cardio. The only drawback i found was if I did a chest and back P90X workout and then the next day forgot and did a Insanity workout with tons of pushups, it was pretty much impossible to finish the complete workout. ( pause...pause)
It's hard to compare the P90X cardio with the Insanity cardio because i believe the Insanity is suppose to be a HIIT workout.
Hope this helps, any questions feel free to ask

I have done both programs. I started with insanity and loved it. I wouldnt say I lost a lot through that program though. But I wasn't following their diet plan or drinking their recovery drink. I am in the last two weeks of P90x and I must say that I am not for sure if it has done much. The DVDs are soooo long and in order to get half the sweat I was getting with insanity, I was trying to do two DVDs a day. Cardio with P90x began to get boring. So what I have done now is started insanity again while doing p90x. So now insanity will be my cardio and P90x will be my strength training. I dislike the yoga DVD just because it is slow and is a hour and a half. On those days I do Pilates instead.
I feel smaller when I do insanity, but I was always soooo hungry, but according to my calorie burns, I wasn't burning more than 350 which I figured would be more with all the sweating I was doing.
My opinion, I love insanity and only like P90x
your initial burn will be small, but your overall burn for the day is HUGE b/c this program is designed to help your burn calories ALL DAY LONG. I tested it with my bodymediafit. I, too, had small initial burns, but I kept burning high all day...On days I don't workout I burn about 2400 cals. On days I lift weights it's about 2700 cals. On days I did insanity it was close to 3000 +. If you were HUNGRY..then EAT to fuel the burns. That is where the money is. (eat clean)0 -
I agree. I think there should be 2 rest days a week while doing this program. By month 2 I had no choice but to take 2 rest days (i'd skip max plyo b/c it hurt my knees). I wasn't eating enough (at the time) to fuel the workouts and I got burnt out (literally).0

Do both as a hybrid.
