Does adding layers do anything? I usually walk/jog and i will wear 2 sets of sweats and sweaters is this doing anything extra for burning more calories by chance?

I am curious too. Even though, it's winter, when I walk my dog thru these trails I break a sweat and get too warm. I don't know if I am only sweating cause I am walking or overly dressed.
  • Sweating doesn't increase calories burned. If you exercise in 90 degree temps or 35 degree temps makes no difference. Extreme cold temps increases calories burned slightly because your body uses some energy to try to warm itself.

Two pairs of sweats? I would have been sweltering in that even today, when I ran at -22C! Uggh. I'd rather be comfortable enough to continue than to have to be uncomfortable in order to burn a minimal amount more calories.

Anything that you'd lose would just be extra water and you'd gain it back as soon as you had a glass to drink. Just wear what you're most comfortable in!

sweat its not related to calories burned.. Sweat just means your body is cooling down . You can burn calories without a drop of sweat.
