'Pulse' pre-workout supplement advice

Ive just ordered some pre-workout supplements from myprotein called Pulse V4. Has anyone tried this before?

Reviews on it are a bit mixed with some people not being able to sleep well or at all following it. I finish in the gym around 11:30PM so not sure if this could be a problem or not! Any views on it would be great.

I used the old version of pulse a few times, didn't think much of it but I don't really like pre-workouts in general and don't bother with them these days.

Depends on how you handle stimulants, but I certainly wouldn't take 160mg of caffeine after 10PM!

I have used pre-workout supplements in the past (off at the moment) and have a healthy supply of the now banned versions for when I start taking them again.

Me personally, I only use them when I train in the morning before work. Not only do I get the strength/energy/endurance boosts they can provide, but also a nice swift kick in the pants to ensure I'm awake, alert and focused on my workout.

I couldn't take one any later than 4-5pm myself as I go to bed quite early and know the caffeine/1,3 DMAA will definitely keep me up all night.

I have a general rule on performance supplements:
If it really worked, it would be banned in competitive sports.

You won't find many that meet that test.
