Readjusting Goals & Finding Motivation Again

So I've lost 15 pounds and got close to my "goal" weight but I still feel really heavy and think I need to readjust my goals. I took pics so I could evaluate how much more I should lose and where I need work. I think my biggest problem area is my back and midsection and legs. I'm really depressed about my results and thought I'd be looking alot better at this point. I feel like just giving up but I'm trying to refind my motivation I had this summer. Nothing could stop me then but now I feel like whats the point I lost weight and still look like crap. How much more weight do you think I could lose? I am going for the really lean look. I'd like honest opinions and any tips on refinding motivation after youve lost it. Thanks!

So my original goal was to weigh 139 pounds. On maintenance I lost 8 more. so now I weigh 131 and am just working on firming / toning where I am now. I feel great. i knew my weight would land where it needed to. Yours will as well..

Unless you're super short, it looks like your weight should be more than fine. But you may be "skinny fat". You don't say what your workouts are, but I suggest you start lifting weights if you're not already, and if you already are, lift more/heavier and be patient. Results come with patience and over time. I'm at my goal weight, but I keep getting physically smaller and toner all the time.

It looks like your trying to attach pictures from Gmail. That's not going to work. Here's a thread on posting pics- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/104076-posting-pictures-on-the-boards-tutorial

Did you lose weight with diet or diet and exercise? If your not already doing exercise and your unhappy with your body composition then your probably going to have to exercise. You may already be at a good weight just not fit. I'm just speculating here because you didn't post much info and your pics aren't working.

It's something you won't know until you get there. It's okay to change your goals. Don't limit yourself until you find exactly what you want.

When I first started this journey I thought I wanted to be a size 8 because that is the smallest I've ever been as an adult. But I found a program that pushed me to set my goals more aggressive for myself and I'm glad because I ended up at size 2-4 and totally happy with my look (at age 50!). I'm still re-comping and adjusting my goals and I'm almost 52 now.

Do what you want. Don't limit yourself! You can lose as much as you want. If every in doubt check with your doctor but when I asked my doctor if I was okay at 10% body fat he said great "but don't go any lower! *shaking his finger at me* LOL", instead I brought it up 1-2%. I don't want to fluctuate more than than that and I do not believe in bulking and cutting, but if I ever decide I want to do a photo shoot again I can get down to 10% nice and slow and easy if I want.

Anyway, my point is don't limit yourself. You own your body. YOU DECIDE. Don't let anyone else sabotage your goals. You do what YOU want. You can always readjust and come back up.

    Wishing you the best! Bobbie

I know how you feel. My BMI (on this site) said I was almost Obese when I started. I set my goal to lose 15 lbs. Once I hit that goal, my BMI was still in the Overweight range, so I couldn't quit there. I readjusted my goal to get me into the Healthy zone and I met my goal. Like most, I still feel like I need to tighten it up but the actual weight seems to be okay.

Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll know when to switch to maintenance.

    Good luck!
