starting to get the 'I'm full' message from my body

Yesterday for the first time I felt full after eating lunch. I had this new chicken pasta pot which was over 400 calories but I only had half which I counted as 250 calories. When I had a few left in my plate I suddenly had the feeling I was full. I finished off the last few and then I started to feel stuffed. A few months ago I probably would have eaten the whole pot and still wouldn't feel stuffed. I was drinking a lot of water but no more than usual. Normally I only feel this way if I overeat massive quantities so I am assuming this is because my stomach is now shrinking which is a good sign.

  • Your stomach doesn't actually physically shrink, but your mind and body do get used to eating less and sending "I'm full" signals with less food. The water probably helps too. I'm just now getting to the point where I feel satisfied with less food. And I don't stuff myself silly anymore.
