My weekly stir-fry, is it actually healthy?

So each week I make a stir-fry as I love them and they are quick, easy and as fair as I know is healthy. Now, I was just wondering is the amount I am eating healthy?. I add tons of veg which fills me up and in my opinion you can't get fat on veg can you?!
So this is what goes into my stir-fry:
Vegetable oil (I was told this is the healthiest oil to use)
Half a packet of beef from Lidl (the packet says it's 400g, so half must be 200g)
Half a packet of veg stir-fry from Co-op (the packet is about the same size as the beef so I assume the packet is 400g, i have half)
Handful of peas
2 small slices of red pepper
Half a small pot of sweetcorn (the small tins you get from Lidl)
Half a packet of Chinese stir-fry sauce from co-op (the blue packet, unsure of the size)
Now is this good to eat? I am worried the chinese sauce or the beef is too fatty/ bad. I eat two of these a week as I use half the packet then use the other half the next day.
Whats your opinion?

If it fits in your calorie goals it's fine.
Beef fat is delicious and nutritious. :bigsmile:0 -
It's fine.0

A lot depends on what the cut of beef is and how much fat it in it. For example lean steak has fewer calories than mince or stewing beef.
Also a lot of Stir Fry sauces are high in sodium and sugar, so if that is something you worry about then you need to check the labels. I make my own sweet and sour using soy sauce, pineapple juice and tomato puree - but even that is high in sugar and sodium.
Ready prepared veg (eg stir fry mixes) often have fewer nutrients in than if you chopped stuff up yourself, which might be worth considering.
But in the grand scale of things it doesn't sound like too bad a meal, I can certainly think of far worse!0 -
I am not sure if it is healthy but it sounds extremely yummy (sorry im not much help lol)0

If you are logging it and it is fine with your macros (are you tracking sodium? I find that stir fry sauces are very high in sodium.) then there should be no concern at all.0

It's more than healthy, but I would switch the vegetable oil for coconut oil. It's a healthier oil for you to cook with as it has a higher smoking point and doesn't convert into bad fat chains like vegetable oil when cooked. Neither of them are healthier calorie wise for you but from a cancer-prevention risk, it's supposedly healther (coconuit oil).
When eatings things raw I put extra virgin olive oil on it but when cooking I use coconut--and no I can't taste coconuts in it lol0 -
You've lost 169lbs, obviously you're doing something right...that stirfry sounds awesome0

I also have stir fry every week. I use the leanest cut of meat (no visible fat) trimmed very thin and marinade in my own mix of spices and rice vinegar. The stir fry in EVO with fresh veggies. I make my own fried rice with a rice and quinoa mix - to make it healthier. Depending on if I'm eating beef or chicken the calorie count for the whole meal is between 285 and 350. Not bad at all!0

I am a regular stir fry meal planner too, so I see where you are coming from. LOL I use lean pork or white meat chicken for mine, use olive oil to fry with, and a whole pack of stir fry veggies, usually with peppers, onions, water chestnuts, broccoli, etc. (I try different veggie blends to change it up). For a seasoning, I only use a powder type seasoning, New Orleans style, Memphis Style, etc, that I buy from of all places, Dollar Tree stores. The seasoning blends right in with your veggies and pork when you mix them. Hubby loves it too, and we usually serve it over brown rice or wheat noodles. I think you are safe to keep having your veggie, lean meat stir fry if it fits in your calorie goals!0

Honey, if you have lost 160 pounds doing this twice a week, my opinion is GOOD WORK!!!! Beef and vegetables are healthy, but watch the sauce. Sometimes the store bought sauces are loaded with sugar. Read labels. Home made sauce is great. Low salt soy sauce, beef broth, water, and Tobasco with a touch of Stevia makes a good sauce. You can add corn starch to thicken, if you want. Keep up the great work.0

I'm not a fan of vegetable oil, personally. I use Canola or Olive, depending on the dish, if I even use any at all. If you are using a sauce, likelihood is you don't even need the oil, just use the sauce and a little bit of water (like 1/8 of a cup). You'll save a ton of calories just by making that one switch. Another user suggested coconut oil. Some people swear by it, but personally, I wouldn't let it within eyesight of my house.
However, considering the weight loss you have had so far, I'm sure that what you are making right now is more than fine. Try changing it up periodically by using chicken or pork, is really the only other suggestion I have. Maybe one week do chicken, another pork, another the beef. That way it doesn't get stale.
Just some suggestions.0 -

I completely agree with this. I used to make stirfry quite often. Only thin i did different was to use olive oil for heart health. I mix it up a bit using chicken and pork or no meat occasionally.
You could put some water in, for some of the oil...steam the veggies a bit more, just turn the temp down a little. Otherwise...if stirfrys have helped you this far, i say keep it going. HHmmmm i think ill get back into making these more often. LOL thank you.0
