exercise and tendinitis

so I have tendinitis in my knee/quad area. I have been going to pt three days a week for almost a month now and going to the gym between 5-7 days a week. Yesterday I didn't go to the gym but did do some yard work, moving furniture, reno work (putting in doors, and dry wall, not an everyday thing) and walked for an hour. after that went bowling. I would have never thought bowling would make me feel like I got a work out but boy did it ever. today my knee/quad is very sore and holding water (it is an inch bigger around even than what it was) I was thinking of going to the gym but affriad I might over do it if I do so I think it may need rest
anyone have any opinions
oh I am going to work in my yard today some more and hang christmas lights so not all just sitting around lol

possibly doing exercises incorrectly or too much weight.. also possible that nutrition is insufficient with micronutrients or maby need a joint supplement like glucosomine and condroitin0
