295 days in a row, then....

I have faithfully logged in and logged all my food for almost 10 months. Today when I logged in, it said I have logged in for 5 days in a row. I looked back and found that I didn't log anything for Nov 6th, so I guess I forgot to even log in that day. I have no idea how I could have neglected to log in. I am devastated! I'm not sure if I feel like logging anything now...

Has this happened to anyone else? How did it make you feel? I am interested to know if I'm the only one who takes it this seriously.

I don't care. It annoys me, I switched off that notification in settings.

Yeah, I just took a vacation and it put me back to day 1. I actually don't care one way or the other, I know my schedule and I know that I'm logging and not slacking. Don't beat yourself up over 1 day of not logging, and you can always turn off the setting.

I felt like you, too.... but they were able to reset it. Just go to the help page.

I just did it again, too.... I tried logging but was on 3G and it wouldn't sync.... but I don't think I am going to bother with that notification either

I would be upset too. I just hit 275, 3 days ago. It's exciting to have that deal pop up and tell you just how dedicated you've been. I'm so sorry you got thrown back to the beginning. Just remember how far you've come and see if you can beat that this time around. :flowerforyou:

I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! I was at my cabin for a couple of days & trying to rob internet service from the neighbor and this happened to me. I do not even use that setting anymore after that! I think if we do not touch base for a week then it should start you over but one day p*ssed me off!!

Switched mine off too. Can't stand the news feed comments wishing people happy 100 days. Some of them don't even bother filling in a diary, they just log on and do nothing!

sadly i know what you mean, i was somewhere around 90 days when i went on vacation (hiking in the mountains in the middle of nowhere) and my phone didn't have a signal, it was kinda depressing that it started over but now i'm back up to 135 (i think was the last one) ....some days still go by when i think " i could have been at 225 right now" but no... no use looking in the past, what's done is done and all we can do is move on  i still wonder what is worse though, that it happened or that i actually care about something that doesn't really matter

Thanks for all your comments. I wasn't aware you could switch it off. I am going to do that and not depend on it for keeping me going. I guess that's just a false sense of accomplishment for me. I should focus on losing the weight and not some number that indicates how much time it's taking.
  • hi there,
to deactivate please go to settings > automatic news feed update settings > deactivate 'I have logged in for several days in a row'
at least I believe this should do the trick but I started this three days ago...

..so to all of you, congrats on your perseverance. NOT the day count, but your hard work and strong-willed self-respect!

Don't let it worry you. You being disciplined and logging in regularly is what's important, not the MFP magic number.

i have been reset a few times due to being away and not having internet (no smart phone), and power outage for a few days. i don't let it bother me though, i know that i have been logging in don't let that small number discourage you. if you send a message to admin they may even be able to reset it for you and get you back to what number you were on

I have no plan to log in every day. I like to get away from my computer at least one day per week.

turned it off... i had a car accident one day and lost my 300+ count because I didnt manage to log in within the 24hour window... was a bit busy. After that it really depressed me and i lost track...

then i finally came to my senses and realised that my weight loss is not dependent on a stupid number i am here on my own volition not because of a ticker... notifications gone - OCD appeased - 30 lbs down :)

Oh that stinks!! I do take it very seriously. And I take it as a sign of how seriously others take it. Its not the ONLY indicator of their dedication but MOST of the time its directly related. Usually the people that I get the message that they haven't logged in for 3 days are the same over and over. And most of the time those are the people who are saying they feel like giving up or that they are "starting over." And it seems to be a slippery slope because at first they might miss a single day. Then 3 days. Then they miss 3 days at a time several times a month. I delete friends for inactivity more than any other reason.

You may be back to day 5 but don't give up. You did it once, you can do it again.
