Cut down on calories before or after Thanksgiving?

I'm eating at maintenance level (1600 for me) but I know I'm going to eat a lot at Thanksgiving dinner. To avoid gaining weight (as someone who is only 5'0 even one pound will show on me) I want to cut down on calories the week leading up to thanksgiving. I was thinking of going down to 1200 or 1300 a day for a week. But, is it better to do this the week before Thanksgiving, or should I do it the week after? Which would be more beneficial?

my opinon is the week before because then you have thanksgiving dinners as a happy incentive. If I waited until after I would have Holiday guilt.0

Can you try to figure out a ballpark figure of what you'll eat on Thanksgiving and then lower your cals/ exercise extra that week to make your weekly cals come out the same.0
