Starting Over....

I first joined in Jan 2012 and by May had lost 50lbs. I then went way off track and have no gained back those 50 plus an additional 9lbs. My lifestyle has become so sedentary. I'm depressed and discouraged. Had a pulmonary function test and the result was shortness of breath completely due to "morbid obesity."

I don't know where to start and now the holidays are on there way....I feel so defeated and disgusting.

I feel disgusting too! Happens to the best of us. I'm so bad I hate even going out in public so I just don't anymore and it's hurting my marriage to be honest. He doesn't get it. I've been struggling with hypothyroidism for quite some time now, so people don't understand my battle I deal with, they just see a gross fat chick. Ugh, anyway feel free to add if you'd like.

You Can't Fail, If You Never Stop Trying

What's the matter? You look shattered
Look like your life fell off the ladder,
Used to be gladder on the top,
No one could ever stop you or pop
Your life's dreams, but now that you've dropped
And fell "SPLAT" on the floor, grab a mop
And clean up the wet spot. Hold on,
You mean to tell me that I'm wrong?
Have I been wrong all along? Come on,
You mean to tell me that you're bawlin
Cuz you failed and now your fallin,
    But this isn't your Armageddon,
In fact your sun ain't settin? It's rising?
    Pardon me but that's surprising,
    Your confidence you've been disguising,
    Behind those tears you're crying
Making an ocean in which you're dying
Might as well set sail, across your tears flying
Cuz your life is up for sale, but there ain't nobody buying
Yeah, you just wail, in fact keep on crying
But know you can't fail, If you never stop trying
Your life will prevail, amongst those who are denying
So quit your crying, here's a hand,
Get off your knees, I'll help you stand
Get your life's rock rolling like a band
Put your hands in the air show the world something grand
Like a thousand, make it two, show the world something new
From the heart that you knew, instead of you feeling blue,
Show the world it still needs you.
And if the world puts you down,
Turns your smile to a frown
Pick yourself back off the ground,
    Go back for another round.

I feel your pain. I am back on here after doing the whole start/stop/start thing.

My thoughts: starting over before the holidays will be hard, but (1) if I can make it past Thanksgiving dinner, pies, Christmas candy, etc. then I can make it through anything and (2) instead of starting a New Year's resolution I will already be lighter than I am today!

    We CAN do this!

Feel free to add me as a friend. Good luck!
  • Sadly I am in the same boat, was doing great...then something changed, and I began not to care as much. Beginning once again, and hopefully this will be the last time.

Anyone is free to add me, we all need support. =) I wish everyone the best of luck!

You can do this! Baby steps, small changes...everything adds up and will help achieve your goals. Hang in there! :)

I so agree with the "small changes"! I know sometimes I try and go from 0 to 100, so to speak, and then can't maintain that level so I quit. This time I am making a few small changes a week and building on that. It's a marathon not a sprint! ;)
