Hello everyone! Been here a month and already losing!! =)

I just thought I would type up a quick post and introduce myself and tell you guys a little about my journey over the last month. First of all, I'm 25-years-old and an ex-athlete who was used to being in shape (though the past 3 years I have not been!). I joined My Fitness Pal a long, long time ago, but I could never get into the hang of logging all my meals every single day. The My Fitness Pal app was a life saver here, so I suggest if you have a smart phone of any kind you download it! It DEFINITELY makes a huge difference! I have logged every day for just over a month now and I have already lost 17 lbs! I have not even had the chance to add exercise to my daily routine because of a broken foot that is still healing. (I finally started exercising today, really hoping I can do more as my foot gets better!)
Anyway, there have been days that I have went a few calories over, there have been a day or two that I went way over, and there have also been those days where I was WAY under my calorie goal. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that you will have an off-day occasionally, but don't let that get you down! Also, another word of advice: Stop drinking soft drinks! I have never really been one that considered myself "addicted" to soft drinks, but after using this app the first few days I quickly decided I'd much rather spend those extra calories on food than whatever I was drinking. Let me also add that I still eat out 2-3 times a week unfortunately, but when I know I'm going to be eating out I make sure to eat an extremely light breakfast and/or lunch. Make sure you drink as much water as possible b/c it does help! I've been buying the Propel Fitness flavor packets at the grocery store to add to my water. Not only do they enhance the taste, but they also have added vitamins and have NO aspertame. (I try to avoid asperatame at ALL costs, look up the side-effects.)
So as of a couple days ago I have been soft drink/caffeine free for one month, I still eat out a few times a week, and I occasionally have an off day, BUT I have still managed to lose 17lbs! (maybe more since I haven't weighed in about a week.) Trust me, if I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT!
Feel free to add me to your friend's list and/or send me a message! I love meeting new people and I hope that I can be an encouragement to all of you! I can't wait until I FINALLY meet my goal weight and am able to post my before and after pics. It is possible! We can do this! Best of luck to all of you!
PS: Sorry for the long post! When I get started talking/typing I never shut up!

Congrats on your success!
I can relate - I've been a member of MFP for a long time, but it never really stuck. This time I've been logging consistently and honestly for just under a month and I've already lost 13 pounds which is nearly halfway to my goal! I didn't expect it to go so fast but I'm not complaining!!0 -
That is awesome. Glad you have finally been able to start logging daily. I have found it to be helpful. I mostly log on on my phone.0
