flappy gut...

So, as of this morning I'm pretty much on my second weight goal of my weight loss journey and yet I'm still not completely happy. Mostly with my gut. I noticed it yesterday while doing pushups that it hang like a disgusting fat filled ballon. I'm starting to loose a bit of patience here because on some occasions I can feel it get smaller yet when I try to do the same exercises/ eat the same food I ate when it got smaller it doesn't work. I read on a lot of pages that if something like this occurs I should just continue with my weight loss and that the folds will get smaller. Has anyone else had any luck with loosing their belly? if yes please share your "secret"...

Two possible causes I can think of off the top of my head:

    some loose skin
    bloating

Basically you can't spot reduce. You have to have patience. It may be the last to go. Are you measuring yourself? (Keep in mind bloating can change the measurement sometimes).

  • Yes I do measure my waist and this morning it went down but I still can't help but notice that it's becoming more and more saggy... maybe I just wish my belly would look similar to my upper body which still doesn't look extraordinarily but sometimes I have to take a better look to see if it's really me in the mirror :D

There's really no secret to losing belly fat. You can't spot reduce, and you just have to keep reducing your body fat all over and hope that it comes off where you want it to. It's common for men (and some women too) to find that the belly is where that last bit of fat sticks. Are you doing any strength training?

If the "sagginess" is from loose skin, then you might just have to be patient and hope that it tightens up a bit on its own. You have your age as an advantage, hopefully your skin still has a lot of elasticity and will get less saggy. Are you planning on gaining any muscle after losing weight? That will probably help the appearance too.
  • Yes I started lifting in summer, I was at the gym 6 times a week but right now I'm going to the gym 3 times a week. So yes I'm planing to gain muscle but it's really slow because I'm also trying to cut my BF under 13%.
