I would like to know your taughts about hydroxycuts and similar products, are they good or bad? In your mind is it cheating? any nasty side effects?
I know there's been a recall not that long ago but apparently they took care of the problem....
I'm just curious

I don't think it is "cheating" (people need little boosts sometimes), however, it made me jittery and nauseous.0

Congrats on losing 12 pounds!! I have tried both Hydroxycut, as well as Stacker 2. I stopped after about a month. It did help me lose a few pounds and it did give me energy. BUT... you have to weigh the benefits v. the risks with taking these types of products. You will get jittery. Your heart will race. You may not notice it know but weeks down the line, your heart will flutter. These products really hinder more than help. You must be doing something right to of lost 12 lbs.... I say stick to it! Do it a healthy way. If you do decide to take a supplement, DO NOT drink any caffeine in conjuction with it! Best of luck to you!!0

FDA warns dieters: Stop Hydroxycut use now
Popular supplement linked to reports of liver damage, at least one death
Dr. Linda Katz of the FDA's food and nutrition division said the agency has received 23 reports of liver problems, including the death of a 19-year-old boy. The teenager died in 2007, and the death was reported to the FDA this March.

Just one view but why bother to take the risk.0 -

I taught that's what the big recall was all about and that they changed it to fix that?0 -

No Thrill in Pills
From RealAge.com (Dr. Oz)
RealAge Benefit: Taking unnecessary vitamins and supplements can make your RealAge as much as 1.7 years older.
If your New Year's resolution to lose weight has you eyeing the natural weight loss pills at the drug store, look the other way.
Although we've heard much about the dangers of ephedra-containing diet pills, ephedra-free diet pills can be hazardous to your health as well. Ones that contain bitter orange, caffeine, or other natural stimulants may cause dangerous spikes in heart rate and blood pressure. Shed excess pounds with a sustainable program of healthy eating and exercise.
Vitamins and supplements are not regulated in the same way as medications. Just because they are available over-the-counter or claim to contain all-natural ingredients doesn't mean that they are safe. The same is true of diet pills. While products containing the stimulant ephedra are now banned, weight-loss aids may contain other stimulants that increase the risk of heart attack and stroke by raising heart rate and blood pressure. In a study comparing the effects of two weight-loss aids, participants who took one dose of a diet pill containing bitter orange (Citrus aurantium) experienced an increase in heart rate of more than 11 beats per minute while people who took a diet pill containing bitter orange, caffeine, and other ingredients experienced an increase of almost 17 beats per minute as well as a rise in blood pressure. Aim for long-term health over short-term gains by eating a nutrient-rich, calorie-poor diet and boosting your exercise efforts.0 -
It made me feel so sick, I was tense, nauseus, couldn't sit still. I think it suppressed my appetite by making me gag at the thought of food. I'd eat some anyway, to see if it would calm my stomach or make me feel like my head was attached again, and it just made me feel worse. And when i stopped taking it, I gained back all the weight and then some.0
