Nope, vodka is all good. When I was on keto, I would get a double vodka and diet coke. Gin is fine, as is whiskey too. Basically most 'clear' spirits (don't touch rum or any liquers[sic] though!). Don't get cocktails, fruit juices and the soft drinks they use are normally FULL of sugars and therefore carbs. If you want mixers, make sure to ask for the diet versions of those mixers (i.e. gin and DIET tonic water)
Just be aware that your body will be metabolising the alcohol before it metabolises the fat in your body, and this can put a stop to weight loss for a TINY fraction of time (until the alcohol is fully metabolised)
I also found that I was more prone to getting tipsy than I was when I was on a 'moderate-high carb diet' (even though it didn't take a lot in the first place lol)

No carbs in Vodka, gin, whiskey or rum (clear or spiced). When I was on Atkins, the recommended the "clear" liquors as the alcohol sugars in them burn quickly. Mix with diet sodas. Avoid juices and/or sour mix.
  • well yes there are calories in alcohol, it is not water lol. if your wondering about certain types you can type it in the food data base on this website and it give you complete nutritional information on any brand/type. also it might not seem like it is that high in calories, but it adds up in shots and even more so in mixed drinks. And making sure not to give in to the drunk munchies, thats the hardest part :) and keep in mind that if you are going to a bar or party, you cant assume that other people are buying low calorie liquire and mixes.

The question was about Carbs and not calories. Always makes me cringe I couldn't live without fruit, whole grains and all the other healthy sources of carbs. Oh and beer, definateyly want a beer on occasion...
