I eat very well during the week but blow it on weekends when I work 3rd shift. I eat because it helps to stay awake then the next few days I am tired. It is hard to make healthy choices when I am tired. It takes me three days to recover from one third and I work about two or three a month. I dont understand why I cant just not do it. It seems so easy to say "I am not going to eat that" but then it is in my mouth. I take good food to work but end up eating the cookies or chips that are there. So it's monday morning and I feel bloated from my weekend.

Any 3rd shifters have any advice?

thanks

Dee

Can you take snacks to work with you? I feel less tired from not eating junk and have gotten away from caffeine (dr. requested I cut out caffeine). I don't work at night so don't really have any answers for you. I would get little snack bags and load them with carrots, almonds, etc. portion control. Rice cakes, etc. Trader Joe's has some awesome bars for 120 calories. I like the peanut butter one and the chocolate. You can do this. Just put some thought into it.
