So, I am just curios!
I bought this because I started lifting today, so how long after lifting should I drink this?
And, I will only be lifting four times a week, but I am also doing insanity and ripped in 30, should I drink after this as well??
Thanks in advance guys :flowerforyou:

You have a lot going on with ALL those workouts. It's best to consume protein within one hour of lifting. However, if you lift then do insanity do it right after your insanity workout.0

Lady,
I've been using protein powder for about a 4 months now and I never really found a good answer for WHEN to drink it. Many sources say before OR after a workout. I've seen people say carbs before a workout, protein after. I tend to use mine after simply because I don't want all that liquid on my stomach when I'm lifting/insanity-ing/running, etc. It tends to slow me down and make me feel a little sick.
I don't ALWAYS use it after a workout. Protein breaks down into peptides and then amino acids. The aminos build the body's protein store. Excess amino acids are converted to fat and sugar. This is why I don't ALWAYS use it. Too much protein could make you fat. But I keep a close eye on what MFP suggests my protein intake to be (which is pretty high on my rough days!) and I try my best to reach that goal or maybe just a little bit over it.
When I first started working out I was really killing it, exercising 3 or 4 hours a day. And eating clean...and close to vegetarian. My nails started to split and crack 6 months later and I'm still trying to rebuild them, although they're almost completely better.0 -
I try to have a protein shake 30 minutes after lifting. And 4 lifting days a week is PLENTY. You'd be fine with just 3 really.0

BTW when I say within one hour of lifting... that means right after you finish your lifting. YOu have an hour window that it is important to get your protein in. = D0
