Is it possible to develop a food allergy after 42 years of being able to eat it? Here recently every time I eat fish it makes my tummy hurt and have to go to the bathroom more often than I like. LOL, I suppose it is good for weight loss, but not good that it makes me hurt so bad.

yes it's possible. Just like it's possible to develop a drug allergy at any point in life.0

It is possible, some allergies just emerge with no real pattern. You could see a specialist and ask for an allergy test, or perhaps avoid that type of fish.0

Yes, it's possible. It's also possible to go the other way again too and stop being allergic again! (I did, to prawns.)0

Definitely Possible!
Its also EXTREMELY common for a pregnant woman. One of my very first pregnancy symptoms was a sudden allergy to mayonaise. I can eat mayo now though.0 -
Yep totally possible. My brother woke up one day and was allergic to fruit. Not all fruit either, just fruit where you eat the skin. After I had my baby I now have a gluten intolerance. Crazy.0

Sadly so far it has been tilapia and tuna. I enjoy fish so well.0 -

LOL, no chance of me being pregnant. I can GUARANTEE that unless it is another immaculate conception.0 -
Yep. I never had problems with almonds while I was growing up, then started to get a slight burning in my mouth when I'd eat them in my 20s. Not a huge issue and I didn't even think about it for several years. Then, right around 30, I ate something with almonds once and had a huge, horrible reaction. My whole face swelled up, breathing got very raspy, whole skin itched, mouth and throat burned like fire and my eyes burned horribly, turned red and tears ran like a faucet. All out of the blue. Now, I have never been to the doctor for it, but very small, controlled tests have shown that this is not an isolated incidence.
No matter, other nuts seem to be fine and I just avoid almonds or things with nuts if I'm not sure what kind of nuts they are. On the flip side, I was mildly allergic to strawberries when I was a kid and they don't bother me at all now. But, I got so used to not being able to eat them that I still can't really bring myself to eat them, even though I know it's fine. lol0 -
Yes- the same exact thing happened to me with blueberries0

It is possible. Indeed. I developed a bad intolerance to wheat and dairy out of seemingly no where in my mid 20s. However, pregnancy helped RESOLVE the problems! What pregnancy does to the body is insane.0 -

Pregnant, I could eat the hell out of dairy and ice cream. Not-pregnant, I can't touch it.0
