Am I doing this right? Insanity question

Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to MFP however not new to fitness. I wanted to ask a couple questions regarding the Insanity program and my current progress on it.
I am on Day 20 of the Insanity program, the following are my stats:
Height: 5'0
WEIGHT:
Day 1 - 137.5
Day 12- 136.0
Day 20 - 136.5 (gained 0.5 lbs)
Waist:
Day 1 - 33.5
Day 20 - 32.0
(I'm only posting this because its my most concerned measurement)
I'm an apple shape with most of my weight in my stomach, I also have PCOS (not a crutch, but though I'd mention it)
For the past 20 days, I've been tracking my food, with an aim to eat 1400 a day with macros set at 40% carbs, 40% proteins and 20% fats. I try to keep my sugar/carbs low (due to the PCOS), drink A LOT of water (do not drink any calories) and have a protein shake after work outs. I am not following the food guide given in the plan simply because I find it difficult to eat the amount of calories suggested for me HOWEVER because I am experiencing such SLOW weight loss and inches lost, I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing =S
My questions is, should I be eating the suggested number of calories to maximize results? I'm afraid of putting on more weight because I'm not sure how the PCOS will react with added calories (because it also means added carbs and sugars - even if they're complex carbs and natural sugars only).
According to the Elite Nutrition guide, I should be eating 2044.7 (that's using the "moderate activity" factor of 1.55 with a 500 calorie deficit).
According to the TDEE method, I should be eating 2185 to maintain and with a 20% deficit - it comes to 1748.
(My second question was, if I need to up my calories, should I use the Elite nutrition guide or TDEE method?)
I'm very confused and worried, I don't want to up calories only to find myself having gained more weight. However, I also don't want to have my body put into starvation mode and I'm thinking maybe this is the reason why I'm seeing such little results. I'm not anticipating major weight loss and I am only focused on inches, but with only 1.5 inch lost from my waist, I just need some more guidance in the right direction.
I hope someone can help me figure out what to do, and point me in the right direction and thanks in advance
Oh, also, I don't use a heart rate monitor, but realized I should probably use one so its been ordered and on its way!

Congrats you've alost reached the half way point of the program and the recovery week will be just that because month two is killer. However try to add some more calories as if you are burning 600-700 calories a workout then you aren't comsuming enough and your body will not respond the way it should. remeber with insanity the first month's workouts are only 40 minutes whereas month 2 will increase the time to almost 60 minutes and be more intense exercises. I hope this helps.0
