Binge Eating NSV!

I have been having a rough few days. My grandma passed away today after being on hospice for a while. That combined with emotional eating (not really to take away the pain, but yummy food to have a fun weekend all as a family with my grandma in her last days) has meant that I have been going over on my calories lately.

But today I realized...

I haven't binged in 2 months!:drinker: Once every few week I used to eat everything in sight, with no limitations or plans on when I was going to stop. This even caused me to stop keeping food in my room at college. Now, I always have healthy options, and maybe some unhealthy options, in my room, but I never go all out eating with no plans on how much I will be consuming.

This is good.

Well done Katie! Sorry to hear about your grandma. That's how I'd like to spend my final days, around family and food! There's a difference I think between a real out of control binge and taking a couple of days off from watching absolutely everything you eat. It may even help mentally to take a brief break from logging.

    Sorry about your Grandma.
    But, GOOD GOING!

(I doubt I will ever ELIMINATE "emotional eating" from my life. But between looking for strategies to avoid it along with learning how to forgive myself and move on, rather than giving up completely. I'm doing much better and living a happier life. That's what I'm here for to live a better, happier, healthier life. I've come to the conclusion making better choice WILL improve my life, but feeling guilty over bad food choice WILL NOT. )

while im sad that you have lost someone you love, my hip, hip hooray is jumpin up and down inside me, for your awesome news of not binging. As a fellow emotional binger, i know what it's like to feel that loss of control over yourself and food. that you haven't truned to food during your time of stress is amazingly wonderful. give yourself a super huge hug. you deserve it.
