Hey there, just curious because I'm 5'4" and I have noticed that my stride is a little shorter than my longer legged friends. I run comfortably at 6.5mph, and when I do sprints on the treadmill I'm usually at 8.5-9.5 mph ( for a half hour) I'm asking for interests sake, because I am always trying to better myself and would like to know what speed my female counterparts of the same height are capable of. Thanks!

i am at 5.0 at a 1.5 incline at the moment, but I just started running a week ago, so I would like to see other's responses so I know what to aim for =)
  • I am 5'4'', as well and run at 7.0. I will sometimes go up to 8.0-8.5 in small bursts and of course go down to lower speeds when I am cooling down/warming up. :) I have only started running/jogging in the past couple of months, so I am still relatively new to running myself.

I'm 5'4, and I generally jog around 6.0-6.5, depending on how I'm feeling. I can certainly run faster, but it depends on how far I'm going. I like the 6.0-6.5 pace for a 3-5 mile jog.

About 5.7mph sustained over 5 miles. I have done 6mph for 3 miles in the past. Longer runs I drop to 5.3mph. However, these times are all faster than they were when I started in spring, so I'm expecting to get faster as I keep training.

    I run a 5K around 5.5 - 5.7 unless I am super tired and over trained then I run at 5.3

I'm 5'4" and my typical run (once a week) is 6 miles at 6.0mph. Depending on how I'm feeling I may bump up to 6.2 or 6.3 towards the end. If I'm doing intervals I will go up to 8.5 for the speed work.
